Established in 1904, our family farm is located in Split Rock Township; a
rural area rich in farming heritage west of the small town of Kettle River
in northern Minnesota. The Butkiewicz Family is proud to carry on the
tradition of farming for five generations.
Many years of experience raising
Top Quality Beef has allowed us to produce a consistent, great tasting
product to meet the needs of today's health conscious consumer. We do not
use any antibiotics, injections or implants. Our beef is raised on a daily balanced diet of
baled grass grown on our farm and corn grown by a farmer friend south of Braham MN.
Our beef is sold by the quarter, half or whole and custom cut to portion
sizes you choose for your family's meal planning needs. It is then Quick
Frozen to insure quality and freshness. Processing is available at a local Minnesota
State Certified Facility.
Marbling within beef is the primary determinant of USDA Quality Grade. It is
stated beef cuts with higher levels of marbling are more likely to be tender,
juicy and more flavorful than cuts with very low levels of marbling. USDA's
highest Quality Grade Prime has a degree of marbling rating of moderately
abundant. This is what we try to attain with our Butkiewicz
Family Farm Beef. The ground beef from our steers is about 85% lean.
GREAT FOR GRILLING
A quarter beef is considered 1/2 of 1/2 providing a mix of cuts available in
both the front and hind quarters.
Our prices are $2.65/lb. based on hanging weight. Processing, done by Roger Line and Sons, runs $.42/lb
totaling $3.07/lb. Hanging weight is taken after it is aged, prior to the
start of the custom cutting. A typical quarter is approximately 175 lbs.

We take pride in raising a high quality product you can't find at your local grocery
